M11S - The Tyrant

Game8 follows Nukemaru

  • JP PFs no longer rotates the boss around during Orbital Omen, you are to keep the boss perfectly pointed north as the MT.
  • The first Great Wall of Fire can be invulned by every tank except the PLD if the intention is to use the invuln again for the enrage towers.
    • The second Great Wall of Fire is almost always shared, do communicate with your cotank whether you're rotating clockwise or counterclockwise.
  • JP PFs are split between DXA (game8) and TotanV2 strategy for resolving Ecliptic Stampede.
    • On the English side, TotanV2 is also known as Fixed Stampede but with a different priority system for ranged and a different setup for two-way/four-way fireballs.
  • By far the most popular way to deal with Heartbreak Kick is 822.
    • Alternate setups exists, like 812 and 182, but are more rare.

General notes:

  • The majority of the attacks in the first part are physical, which means it becomes more important that melee DPS presses their feints properly.
  • The last burst is usually delayed until the 3rd Heartbreak Kick starts, which aligns with the third pot window if your party is potting at 0/6/10:30.
    • The alternative is sending everything on cooldown, which has become more common in consistent groups where DPS check isn't an issue.
      • The two pot window timings will either be 0/6 or 0/5/10, depending on how fast your party kills the boss.

Major mechanics

Setup

There are two waymarks going around which are used to resolve Majestic Meteor. Elemental has used the middle-safe waymark during early weeks, while Mana (game8) uses the corner-safe waymark instead. Avoid using the Elemental week 1 waymarks in Mana, as they have caused wipes in JP parties due to the confusion in the different safe spots.
